I've been wanting to talk about this for a while. Like many other wonderful plants (tea tree, sandalwood, frankincense) white sage and it's eco-system are at risk. It's being over foraged and illegally harvested from private land, mostly for resale to commercial vendors. It is a sacred plant and shouldn't be taken ignorantly or without ceremony (the same goes for palo santo). I've included smudging in my ceremonies for over 20 years, and after learning about the sensitive state of white sage I decided to not use it anymore. What do I use? Watch!! What do you use?!
